Hi, I’m MEGAN DOSS.

I love movement, but it took a while for me to find my passion for it. I grew up being active but didn’t consider myself an athlete or step inside a gym until I was an adult. Like many people, I started with a desire to, “lose weight and shape up”. I found the real benefit was feeling physically and mentally strong. I was able to enjoy life to the fullest without wondering if my body was capable. Whether it was standing and dancing for hours at a concert or moving heavy boxes out of storage, I could handle it.

But also like so many people, an injury put an end to that feeling. I started to wonder if I’d be able to stand up without pain or move fast enough to get off the subway before the doors closed. It took a lot of trial and error, searching for answers, and gaining knowledge to build myself back to feeling strong and capable. Now I use what I’ve learned on this journey to help others to feel their strongest and to enjoy whatever activities bring them joy.

My method.

Pilates Based

Centering, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breath, and Flow are the grounding principles of the work I do. Pilates exercises and equipment are the jumping off point to our sessions. That Pilates base allows us to address nagging pain and injuries or fine-tune common movement patterns to help you feel great and move confidently.

CONTEMPORARY approach

Drawing from research, and my certifications in multiple movement modalities (Pilates, Personal Training, MELT, and more) to address the overlapping systems that move and heal our bodies. Sessions also benefit from my training and experience with areas such as:

  • low back pain and spinal injuries

  • shoulders, hip and knee problems

  • pre and post natal exercise

  • neurological conditions

  • active recovery methods

personal to you

Based on your goals, your sessions can… incorporate exercises that have been assigned to you by a physical therapist, increase your ease of movement, help prepare you for athletic events, coordinate with sports specific training, and keep you doing the activities you enjoy far into the future.
